Meadowview Care Home raises £1,600 for the Alzheimer’s Society

Staff at a residential dementia and respite care home in Warrington have completed a 6km walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Five team members from Meadowview Care Home put on their walking gear to complete the Liverpool Memory Walk at Aintree Racecourse. The challenging walk, which covers the full racecourse as well as adjacent landscaped parkland, was tackled to raise both funds and awareness to aid vital dementia research, campaigns, and support services.

Together, the team from Meadowview Care Home, which included the deputy manager, two team leaders, the activities coordinator, and one of the home’s bank support workers, raised an impressive £1,600 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Meadowview Care Home Deputy Manager Donna said ‘The Alzheimer’s Memory Walk is a great way for us to raise funds for an important charity, which is very close to all our hearts. We were delighted with all the support we received from our residents’ families and friends.’

The money the team raised will be added to the wider Alzheimer’s Society funds to support the charity to continue its campaign to fund research and support people living dementia.

Everyone at Meadowview Care Homes would like to thank the families and friends of our residents for their fantastic support for a cause that, of course, means so very much to us all.
